Our Instructors

Britney has been riding horses since she was six years old and brings more than 20 years of riding experience to her teaching. She has worked with trainers to build a strong understanding of horse handling and care for horses of all ages. Her own horse, Chase, is an off-the-track Thoroughbred (OTTB). Britney enjoys teaching riders of all levels and helping students grow in confidence and skill. Outside the barn, she loves riding Chase, traveling, cooking, hiking, camping, and spending time with her friends and boyfriend.

Sue began riding Western as a youngster and became fascinated with dressage in the late 1980s. She appreciates the way riders communicate with their horses through seat and leg aids, using less rein. Sue teaches the theory behind the “why” and “how” of the aids riders give their horses. Dressage showcases a horse’s training through prescribed movements performed before a panel of judges, with levels progressing from Training Level to Grand Prix. Sue trained her horse, Montanna, to Third Level, and he is now part of the lesson program.

Emily is a Liberty High School graduate and currently takes classes at Carroll Community College. She has been involved with horses for many years and works with both horses and riders build positive horsemanship and riding skills. Emily competes in recognized eventing through Training Level with her horse, Nevo, whom she trained from the ground up. They have competed in recognized events for more than three years and are working toward their goal of reaching the FEI levels. She also has experience with hunters  and jumpers. Emily was an active 4-H member for more than eight years, including one year as president, and participated in FFA for three years. She is also a working student at a local barn, where she helps exercise and train green horses, provides general horse care, and assists with farm management. As a riding instructor, Emily enjoys sharing her passion for horses with her students and creating a safe, fun, and encouraging environment where riders can build skills and confidence.

Dana is a riding instructor specializing in fundamental dressage as it applies across disciplines. With
a competitive background in USHJA show jumping, dressage, and eventing—including qualifying for
the American Eventing Championships—Dana brings a wealth of cross-training knowledge to the
arena. She also specializes in saddle-starting, young horse development, and retraining OTTBs, trail,
and western horses.
Dana’s coaching style focuses on dynamic flatwork using poles and cavaletti, seamlessly
transitioning those concepts into over-fences exercises. She loves working with "problem horses" and
helping riders master everything from gait adjustability to tight jump-off turns.
Whether you’re polishing a dressage test, shaving seconds off your course time, or bringing along a
green horse, Dana is here to help you reach your goals...

 Meg"s love of horses goes back 46 years! She has been riding since the age of 2 when
her illustrious parents gave her her my first pony, Nellie. She competed in hunter/jumper and dressage
growing up in 4-H and was in drill team for 6 years. She would love to start her own drill team one
day! She began starting horses beginning with her mustang, Whyn, when she was 20 years old and he
is 26 years old today. Since then, she has started many horses from the ground up using natural horsemanship and foundational dressage. As an adult, she was a professional horse trainer in
conjunction with her vet tech career. She has worked with multiple trainers and attended countless clinics to glean as much knowledge as possible to skillfully train horses and riders. With my her horses, as well as training horses, she has shown in dressage and hunter/jumper. She has taught lessons throughout her career and has proudly assisted students as well as their horses advance from beginner through to advanced beginner and amateur. Her students have praised her on her
encouraging, patient nature and ability to make even the most confusing and complex skills more understandable. Her goal is to enlighten every student with confidence and get them excited about riding and coming to her lessons. She is excited to start teaching at Windsong and
looks forward to every lesson!
